School Meals

We are able to provide children with a balanced, nutritious and healthy fresh school meal at a cost of £2.80 per day.

Dinners are cooked and delivered from Yarlside Academy. The menu is on a three week rota, which can be found on the parent pay app. We also offer specialist/theme days where the children get the opportunity to sample new and exciting foods.

The menu operates with one main meal offered each day. If children do not like the main choices they can always have an alternative choice of jacket potato with a choice of filling. We also have a deli bar which offers a variety of extra breads, salads and grains for the children to choose. A vegetarian option is also available daily.

Currently, all children in Reception to Year 2 are entitled to Universal Free School Meals, we highly recommend that you take advantage of this initiative. We often find that children who have a hot dinner will try many new foods that they wouldn’t otherwise do at home.  We also provide both Vegan and Vegetarian options, please contact the school office for more information.

Please ensure to still order online via ParentPay.

The cost of one meal is £2.80, and the cost for the week is £14.00

Menus

All school dinners are ordered and paid for online using ParentPay.

Special diets can be catered for at our school. Please contact us if you have any queries or concerns about food allergies.

If your child is having a packed lunch we encourage healthy options, no fizzy drinks/sweets/chocolate bars.

The Furness Education Trust Catering Services Mission Statement

Furness Education Trust aims to promote the health and wellbeing of all our students by preparing the finest quality school meals, which are within budget and compliant with nutritional legislation.

Suppliers

We are always interested in finding out more about where our food comes from. We aim to provide fresh tasting products all year round. We work closely with all of our suppliers to ensure that wherever possible we:

  • support local business;
  • minimise food miles; and
  • minimise harm to animals and the environment

Genetically Modified Food

Furness Education Trust does not use any genetically modified food or products in anything we produce.

Allergens

Furness Education Trust is aware of the rising number of children with food allergies and intolerances. We endeavour each day to ensure that students that are unable to eat certain foods are still provided with a variety of choice for lunch. All our allergen information is displayed clearly within our dining facilities and our staff are highly knowledgeable about our food ingredients, so students need only ask.
